Author's Spotlight: Agatha Christie

With over 2 billion (that’s right billion!) copies of her works sold, Agatha Christie remains the undisputed “Queen of Crime”, the most well-known of all mystery writers. Possibly only Arthur Conan Doyle has had more impact on the modern detective crime novel. Her prodigious output covers a 50 year period starting after WWI with stories that reflect British society as she saw it during that period.

Hercule Poirot and Jane Marple, Christie’s most famous characters have endured and regularly appear in television and films.
